About RTU
Rajasthan Technical University setup in 2005 by Govt. of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in Rajasthan. The university is situated on Kota-Rawatbhata Road, about 10 Km from Kota Bus Stand and 14 Kms from Kota Railway Station.
The Rajasthan Technical University, Kota Rajasthan is responsible for producing quality technical manpower in the field of Engineering and Technology, Management, through AICTE approved Govt. / Govt. Aided / Private Institutions and University Departments. The norms and standards prescribed by AICTE are being followed.
The university cater almost all discipline related to technical education in Rajasthan. At present 79 Engineering Colleges,46 Pharmacy Colleges, 23 MCA Colleges, 99 MBA Colleges and 03 Hotel Management and Catering Institute are affiliated to the University.
For admission to various technical courses namely BE / B.Tech. / B.Arch./ MBA the state government used to conduct entrance tests viz. RPET/RMAT. As result of entrance tests, manual computerized counseling were conducted by different institutions/nominated agencies for completion of the admission process for various courses, which was very cumbersome & tiresome process.
Keeping in view the generic problems faced by the candidates, their parents and by the state administration. It was decided to give up the manual counseling system and adoption of modern web based online off campus counseling system to bring in transparency & efficiency for making merit based admissions.
For that purpose RTU is undertaking services of National Informatics Centre (NIC), the premier IT organization of Government of India under Union Ministry of Communication & Information Technology for the task of Software development, testing & implementation of Web based Online Off Campus Counseling for admissions to BE /B.Tech./MBA technical courses being run in all type of institutions in the State.
